FGS Temple of Toronto
Humanistic Buddhism Courses Mississauga

The Avatamsaka Sutra stated, "Of all offerings, the offering of Dharma is the highest." The Dharma, the teachings of the Buddha, is an important set of teachings because it helps individuals answer questions on life and death, and how to live this life on earth without being afflicted with suffering. The Dharma teaches universal truth.

Given that the Dharma is difficult to understand, Buddha has adopted innovative methods of instruction.

Venerable Master Hsing Yun, the founder of Fo Guang Shan, evocating the same education ideals through humanistic Buddhism. He emphasizes education as a means to develop society, and to transmit the Dharma in practical form.

With this perspective, Venerable Master established "To Nurture Talents Through Education" as one of the objectives when he founded Fo Guang Shan. As one of the Fo Guang Shan worldwide branch temples, Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto established FGS Toronto Humanistic Buddhism Courses. The college provides diverse courses throughout the years.
