Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto hosted a “Young Adult Heart to Heart Connection with Venerables” dialogue on May 9, bringing together 15 young adults for an afternoon of sincere conversation on mental wellness, communication, artificial intelligence, and global conflict through the lens of Humanistic Buddhism.

The Buddha’s Light International Association held a “BLIA Leadership Forum” on May 9 at Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto under the theme “Serving with Wisdom and Compassion,” welcoming nearly 120 BLIA executive members and participants for an afternoon of reflection on volunteer leadership, collective collaboration, and spiritual cultivation.

Nearly 100 participants gathered at Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto on May 9 for the English Buddhist lecture Buddhist Encounters: Finding a Home in the Human Condition, exploring how Buddhist teachings can help people find peace, resilience, and inner stability amid anxiety, aging, illness, and uncertainty.

The three-day International Inaugural Conference of the Institute for Humanistic Buddhist Thought and Practice at the University of Toronto concluded on May 8 at Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto under the theme “Navigating Conflict: Humanistic Buddhism and Comparative Theology in a Divided World.” The final day featured keynote addresses, academic panels, a closing ceremony, and a vegetarian banquet, bringing together international scholars, theologians, clergy, and religious practitioners for interdisciplinary and interreligious dialogue.

Following the establishment of the Institute for Humanistic Buddhist Thought and Practice at Trinity College, University of Toronto, the institute held its inaugural International Inaugural Conference from May 6 to 8. Scholars and religious leaders from Canada, the United States, Taiwan, China, Bangladesh, and the Philippines gathered for interdisciplinary dialogue on Humanistic Buddhism and contemporary society.

The newly established Institute for Humanistic Buddhist Thought and Practice at the University of Toronto convened its inaugural international academic conference from May 6 to 8 under the theme, “Navigating Conflict: Humanistic Buddhism and Comparative Theology in a Divided World.” Bringing together nearly 30 scholars, theologians, and religious leaders from leading global institutions, the conference marked a significant milestone in advancing Humanistic Buddhism within international higher education and contemporary academic discourse.
