More than 300 children, parents, volunteers, and community members gathered at Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto on June 21 for the inaugural Children's Carnival, a vibrant celebration showcasing the achievements of four youth educational programs: the Chinese Language School, English Children's Dharma Class, the 6th Meadowvale Scout Group, and the Dragon and Lion Dance Team.

More than 200 people attended a series of Buddhist lectures at Markham Buddha's Light Center and Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto on June 19 and 20. Presented by Venerable Miao Hsin under the theme "Awaken in One Thought, Galloping Towards Success," the talks explored how a single moment of awakening can transform one's life and set the course toward wisdom, compassion, and enlightenment.

Despite heavy rain, nearly 5,000 people gathered at Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto on June 14 for the annual Interfaith Prayers for Peace and Harmony and Buddha's Light Vegetarian Food Fair, one of Canada's largest multicultural and interfaith community events. Organized by Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto and the Buddha's Light International Association Toronto (BLIA Toronto), the event brought together religious leaders, government representatives, community organizations, and members of the public in a shared commitment to peace, compassion, and social harmony.

As many older adults face challenges such as social isolation, loss of routine, and declining well-being, Fo Guang Shan Temple of Toronto is helping seniors build meaningful connections through its Seniors Activity Program. On June 2, the temple hosted a Seniors Appreciation and Sharing Gathering.

Twenty-two Beavers, Cubs, and Scout leaders from the 6th Meadowvale Scout Group, also known as the Toronto Buddha’s Light Scouts, visited Mississauga Fire Station 108 on May 31 for an educational and inspiring behind-the-scenes look at the work of local firefighters.

The Buddha's Light International Association (BLIA) Toronto Young Adult Division (YAD) organized its first Adopt-a-Park cleanup initiative on May 30 at Lake Aquitaine Park, bringing together 13 young volunteers in a collective effort to care for the local environment and serve the community.
